another blog

What a beautiful day this is....why you ask?  Because I'm not at work, just came home from the gym, the sun is shining, and I'm going to take the dog for a walk!  I am working diligently at keeping myself on track.  I find the harderst part is coming up with new and different foods to eat that are both low cal and tasty. Now onto my other subject......

I don't like to complain, especially when something is given to me for free, but I had a dinner at Aladdin's which is not on my list of favorites.  I tried it because someone else had remarked how awesome it was.  And to her, I'm sure it was.  I absolutely loved the eggplant pizza, but the Greek pizza was lacking.  For one thing, I don't think there were any cucumbers on it and there were only three tiny slivers of green peppers on the top.  There were two olives, each cut in half.  That was ok by me because I don't like olives anyway.  But it was loaded with feta cheese!  The first bite was good, but by the third bite, it was just overwhelmingly salty.  I scraped most of the cheese off into my husband's chili.  He was grateful for that.   Again, I am very thankful for the free dinners and I still love Aladdin's but I also thought you would like an honest opinion.

weekly blog

I have found out that watching a movie or a tv series on my phone while walking the treadmill or being on the elliptical really helps the time fly.  The only problem is that I have been using too much data and am now over my limit. Can I  ask the gym if I can have their wi-fi password? Guess I'll find out!

I'm also trying to get used to fat free, sugar free, plain greek yogurt.  I've heard that adding cinnamon and almonds help, but for now, I am not used to it and it is not my cup of tea.  But I suppose like anything else, I will adapt.  I never used to like diet pop of any kind, and I got used to that  I haven't had a Pepsi in a very long time and don't plan on one any time soon.  I also like the way my clothes fit me now, as I don't have to lay on the bed to zip my jeans anymore! lol

spring blog

Doesn't feel much like spring today, but I do have a spring in my step!  Just wanted to say that I am very happy that I joined this contest.  I do believe I can keep up with this change because it's not a specific diet and I'm not using any kind of medication.  The changes I've made with my eating habits are for a life time.  I realize that I have been eating too much junk and empty calories.  Cookies and cakes don't call out my name any more! Now I can still hear potato chips whispering for me, but I try to ignore them!

Blog #8 I think

Weekends are getting harder, I have to admit! I've made the resolution not to eat anything at all after 7 pm. Because of that I turn down party invitations. This is something I know I won't be able to keep up for the rest of my life. I have to decide to make better choices if I do eat anything in the evenings.

blog #7

I just wanted to say that my husband actually has been getting up with me at 4:30 AM to work out at the gym!  It is so much easier to go when someone is with you!  I am so proud of him!  He is my number one cheerleader!  Although I wish he could start eating lighter meals along with me instead of munching on pizza and cheeseburgers while sitting right next to me!  We did go to Harry Buffalo's the other night and he ordered an angus burger and fries.  I had already eaten something at home and thought I would get something small, but my will power took over and all I had was water.  I didn't want to face the guilt if I had eaten anything. Things are going pretty good and I am happy with my progress so far....but it is a long contest!  Looking forward to spring!

#6

Another storm on the way!!  Can't tell you how sick I am of this and really want to walk outside!! Just got back from the gym where I walked at a good pace for 40 minutes.  I need to incorporate some weight lifting to tone up my arms.  Nothing like flappy arm fat in a sleeveless top!  Have to get "summer ready".....if it ever gets here!

On a side note....I am having a root canal on Monday.  I sure hope I can eat my dinner at Aladdin's!  I don't want to miss one meal of that great food.  I have to thank this Lighten Up contest for introducing me to mediterranean cuisine because to tell you the truth, I would never have tried it on my own and now I feel like it is the only restaurant that I can go to for fresh, healthy meals!
